thank you baby.

(stella circa 1.5 months)
dear stella,
just now, when mom was at 'the brink' of a breakdown. i pulled you from your crib, fussy of course and plopped us down in your rocking chair. you shot me a gummy smile and grabbed my lips with your tiny baby hand-and it was all over for me. the bad day that is.
you look just like daddy, that is always such an added bonus. i see so much of his wonderfulness in you already.
we sang and rocked and you cooed and played with my lips. i love that even a gussied up version of old mcdonald or twinkle little star stella grabs your attention and wows you to sleep.
your asleep now. that's all you needed. it's all i needed too.
thanks for being my daughter.
love,
m

Sooooo sweet. This is my favorite of all your posts so far, I could just see her little smile. I love how these babies have a way of getting us out of bad moods like nothing else.

and...YES! We are coming home soon! Playdate for sure! Does Paper Mama live in WA too? Somehow I missed that.

Great Post!
it's pretty amazing how our babies can take us from fuming mad to a pile of lovey mush with just a smile :)

I love your blog, thanks for being an authentic mom...so encouraging!

Is painting up your child's body like that okay? Do you know what is in the ink?
