ok, ready set...

stella may or may not have a yeast infection (those of you at the bloggy party, witnessed it-i think) and now i am worried that once we get it cleared up it is going to continue to haunt us via our cloth diapers. so i need your advice, at least from you cd'ing mommies. what is the best way to get rid of it?

k, go...

There were a couple of times we had to take Coralee out of cloth and use a foot cream (like lotrimin) on her bum for a few days. It usually worked pretty fast. Since then I have learned that coconut oil can work well (at least on a 'normal' rash) and is safe on CDs.

I'm sure you've done more research than my 30 seconds, but i'm finding vinegar for washing the diapers, and a few drops of tee tree oil into your wipes. I guess it greatly reduces the risk of a yeast infection. And with that, maybe just through a few drops in her bath every night? then you don't have to try and mis a couple drops of tee tree oil into wipes. that could be complicated.

I second the vinegar. It also helps remove odors. Also limit the sugar or get rid of it. At least until all the yeast is gone. Probiotics, probiotics, probiotics. And natural anti-fungal cream is awesome too. Good luck!

poor thing. i know those can be frustrating and sometimes not so easy to get rid of. vinegar and baking soda are both anti fungal. it would also help to keep her diaper off as much as you can and to feed her yogurt if that is something you eat in your families diet.

Vinegar (white) for all your washables! And the post above about the sugar is also true! I have also heard that anything that can't go in the wash but was possibly contaminated should be cleaned with bleach water solution! hopefully everything gets cleared up soon!
