let's get real, with some of your favorite mamas!

let’s get real; sometime the day sucks, our kids are extra loud, and you are just begging God to send you an extra pair of arms. i try to be as real as possible here on hi, baby-cause come on life isn’t always sparkles and i know mine or your baby isn’t pooping rainbows. i love my family to the moon and back but i know how i would answer all these questions and they might not be pretty answers, but hey that’s life. you can bet that every second is worth it though and i will be right back up at it tomorrow.
for the next few plus weeks i am going to introduce you to some of my favorite blogging mamas (three at a time) and their dirty little mama secrets. so are you ready to get real?
meet amanda p from a pretty little life, one of my dearest friends from high school. her first daughter ellie and my last stella are exactly two months apart and will grow up being life long friends (if we have anything to do with it)! she married her highschool sweetheart and could give you a tip or two on life.

what is the condition of your house right this second?
Umm....let's see....there's one load of laundry (folded and sorted) sitting on the sofa waiting to be put away, there are a few dirty dishes in the sink and the dishwasher is clean and begging to be emptied. It's trash day, so there are garbage bags sitting at the front door just waiting for the hubs to take them out :) That about sums it up!
what is something that your nugget(s) do that drive you absolutely crazy?
Elliott is in a phase where she spits out food and/or drinks. It annoys the crap out of me! I have to take a deep breath and prepare myself before I respond to the chewed up goldfish that just came flying out of her mouth.
if you suddenly were granted two uninterrupted laundry and dishwasher free hours daily what would you do?
Hmmm....I feel like I kind of have this almost every day. After Ellie goes to bed, I pretty much do whatever I want. And usually that time is spent blogging or crafting. Ideally I should be scrubbing toilets or mopping floors during that time, but I need to unwind and feel like I've accomplished something for myself.
who is number one on your elevator list? who you can…well, grope without consequence if ever caught in an elevator with said person?
Haha Matthew McConaughey has always been at the top of my celebrity crush list.....mmhhmm.
what is your secret weapon to survive a not great day?
Diet coke. And lots of it! And on a particularly hard day, I find a way to get to Starbuck's and I indulge in a Mocha Coconut Frappucino. Sooo good!!
ok, now the most important question; at the end of the day when the house is finally quite how do you unwind?
I blog :) Or craft, or watch trashy reality TV (okay most nights I do all three!)
a new blog friend, amanda from eastpath is sweetheart and i can't wait to keep reading and watching her little one grow.

what is the condition of your house right this second?
Actually, I'm pretty OCD so other than the "daily toys" being out for the girl, the house is fairly tidy... It could use some sweeping/vacuuming but other than that since the house is so small it's not too hard to keep it picked up :)
what is something that your nugget(s) do that drive you absolutely crazy?
Right now it is the drama filled gong show that is changing a diaper. You'd think I was torturing her. What used to take a few minutes is now an epic procedure and it drives me NUTS!
If you suddenly were granted two uninterrupted laundry and dishwasher free hours daily what would you do?
I want to say sleep, but since I'm actually feeling like I'm getting enough for once, even though it is still interrupted, I say read. And by read I mean something that is just for entertainment and not for education :) :)
who is number one on your elevator list? who you can…well, grope without consequence if ever caught in an elevator with said person?
LOL I had to look that up! I've never really thought much about those types of things but I'd have to say I've always had a special place in my heart for Wil Wheaton baahahaha, and Nathan Fillion (WOOO MAMA!)
what is your secret weapon to survive a not great day?
Guess it depends in what way the day is not great. I think in the end sleep is how I get through. Because tomorrow is another day, and sleep always makes me feel better. :)
ok, now the most important question; at the end of the day when the house is finally quite how do you unwind?
LOL!! Right now it's Pinterest! A lot of the times it's relaxing with something to read. Be it blog entries or sometimes a chapter in a book. :)
last but not least we have mandey, mama of twin dudes and operator of mama and the dudes. she cracks me up and keeps it real on a daily basis. i promise you will feel the same way.

The bar area is covered with stuff, as usual. Things I need to get done. A basket of unfolded laundry on the stairs, waiting to go up to our room. For the past 3 days. A paper bag full of recycling on our kitchen counter because the actual garbage is full. Finger prints on every reflective surface. If you are a clean freak, children are not for you.
what is something that your nugget(s) do that drive you absolutely crazy?
Julian just learned how to grind his teeth. His FRONT teeth. Seriously? It's like nails on a chalkboard to me. It's SO loud. My eyes water and I get really squirmy/squealy. And he keeps on doing it. AHH! I'm getting all freaked just talking about it!
if you suddenly were granted two uninterrupted laundry and dishwasher free hours daily what would you do?
WHAT? Two WHOLE hours? Boo-YAH. I'd sit on my patio under the umbrella and read. And then I'd sew and create and do all the crafty projects I've started but never seem to find the time to finish.
who is number one on your elevator list? who you can…well, grope without consequence if ever caught in an elevator with said person?
Oh lordy.Dwayne Johnson. Yep. He is a beautiful human being. High five to God for that one.
what is your secret weapon to survive a not great day?
Music. Some good tunes always put me in a better mood. I'm really into Foster the People lately and their songs just make me want to dance all over the house. (Which I may or may not do.)
ok, now the most important question; at the end of the day when the house is finally quite how do you unwind?
I screw around the computer. How nerdy is that? And a few times a week I like to take a hot bath and read something good until my toes are all pruney.

Btw, our house is never perfect. I hate it haha! Especially our room, it's so hard sharing a room with a baby and keeping it clean!!
