newcastle beach; or the mud pit.

when summer finally hit the PNW a little while back we made a bee-line for the beach. i think the rest of the eastside had the same idea but that didn't stop us from having a good time. newcastle beach on lake washington is quickly becoming a summer favorite with several more trips their since this first one. tim had been hiding this gem from us! the girls spend the majority of the time playing in a pit of mud slash sand, left  behind by some other beach patrons. stella has blown me away with her love (and lack of fear) for the water, rowan still enjoys sitting just up on the shore so she feels the waves and busily shovels rocks for hours, and zoe does a little of it all!

If you're looking at the water, and then look at the first house on the right, my aunt and uncle live there. :) I used to go to this beach as a kid, but now that I've got a backyard/dock to play on, we use theirs instead. The kids look like they're having a blast in all that sand, though!

Wow, never knew there were MUD PITS FOR KIDS! Hahah I wish my parents brought me to one of these when I was 4.
