take that pinterest.

pinning literally gives me simultaneous anxiety and doubt; tons of dreams coupled with the fact i know i'll never have time (or honestly money) to get around to a lot of the things i pin craft and diy wise. i am ok with it though, i find pinning to be a way to unwind before bed or when i am waiting for rowan to get out of preschool. it's funny looking back, how did we ever come up with ideas for ANYTHING before pinterest? #winningpinning
especially with a new house i have been looking forward to setting some of my pins in action - the "mah future house" board officially changed over to the "mah house" board and i got to work.
our downstairs bathroom will be our biggest pinterest accomplishment yet - but i am not quite done and ready to share that yet. oh, and while we're on the subject - does anyone else's husband refer to pinterest as the devil? tim equates it to mean a lot of extra 'honey-do' stuff for him thus hates it. anyone?

so some simple pinterest inspired project we have been up to lately to pass the time till we get to the real fancy big ones:
inspired here. i want to get two more and find something to fill them with that adds more color and distinction to them. like brown sugar or some beans?
inspired here: to see the rest of my bridal shower post go here.
inspired here:
inspired here: every year it is our job to make tim's brother his birthday cake (and here) - it has been two years now and i am making it a personal goal to top the last years every year. i need to start thinking of ideas for the next one!
inspired here. due to a little miss communication between the hubs and i, these turned out a lot shorter than i wanted thus making it hard to fit the back stock of zoes last five years of school and rowan's two-oops. another downside was i was a little surprised when i caught eye of the price of these 'curtain lines' at ikea - at around $14 a set this turned out to be a little pricey for a quick project.
inspired here: hours upon hours on entertainment - especially after i put a blanket over the opening.
inspired here: the rest of the photos from my sister's session can be seen here.
inspired here: although i had originally seen this on brandy's fantastic blog http://thebabyblackbird.com/ i immediatly pinned it (with my trusty 'pint it' toolbar feature) to be tucked away and done later. it was meant as a craft for me in the girls but then i stole it away one afternoon during naptime.
inspired here: well, duh. i know everyone did this one but it is the perfect way to document a first day of school.
inspired here: there is a pink one in their too, it just didn't make much of an appearance. i just wanted to try it out so i didn't prepare very good. next time we will have lots of fun ribbons and that thick craft yarn!
inspired here: this photo hardly explains anything, but this was the begining of zoe's new pallet bed. it is all done and in her room but here eventually i need to sand it still. i thought it would look cool still all rustic and worn but the more i stare at it, it is pretty dirty still. she loves it and it is the perfect addition to their sorta vintage industrial room for three!
inspired here: bridesmaids gifts; purses from http://krustal.com/ wrapped all pretty!
inspired here: so this didn't taste like anything special having actually made them into each other but since it was bacon it was delicious either way, duh.
inspired here: it's the little things you forget to think about when planning a wedding - then bam! a cute idea like this pops up on your pintrest everything board and you know it was meant to be!

i am going to try really hard and make this a monthly installment, and i think that amy from http://www.agoodlifeblog.com is gonna help me out, so stay tuned! - like i mentioned, pinterest has been a gold mine for new house decorating ideas and i am slowly but surely implementing them all over my house (even in the laundry room!) so i will have lots for (hopefully) success stories to share soon. also, i will have my wedding photos back here shortly and i will share where i got a lot of my ideas - if you came to my wedding and you also follow me on pinterest then you may have seen a lot of pinterest inspired touches around the ceremony and reception...i really don't know how brides did it before pinterest and http://greenweddingshoes.com/!!

Hey I found your blog! :) I met you at the preschool and talked w/ you today about your ERF decal. I didn't realize until I drove away that we never exchanged names - how funny that we share the same first name!

I totally LOVE pinterest too!  And these are great ideas - love the Christmas light "cave" - totally going to try that!
