with four kids the idea of going to the mall to stock up on basics for the them makes me anxious - have you ever simultaneously breastfed in a ergo, held a tiny independent hand, and chased two bickering sisters down a crowded store aisle? don't even get me started about how they like to hide in the clothes carousels.
needless to say, on-line shopping is where it's at - i have always loved consignment shopping, my cousin introduced it to me when zoë was a baby and between that and ebay i am pretty sure that girl wore more flashy clothes them me at a fraction of the cost. i have a few favorite shops that i recycle my littles clothes through but it isn't always easy to find quality in the style you are shooting for. especially when they get older and blow through clothes faster with all the ripped knees and junk.
thanks to some friends on facebook, i recently discovered thredUP and was hooked! you can browse through thousands of quality clothing items from size twelve month to kiddo size twenty. there are awesome search tools to narrow down pretty specific wants in size, brand, color, and option. being a major gap lover myself i love that i can pop in gap as the specific brand i am looking for and instantly have tons of choices in front of me. you can also "reserve" an item for a short period in case you need to check if it will work for you, you know a friend who would want it, or you are going to grab it for a gift.
and if it couldn't get any cooler - you can send your excellent used condition clothes in to make some money! you can add a bag to your order when you check out and when you have filled it up with quality name brand stuff send it back in and get paid. even better? they are in the process of adding women's clothes too!
i love thredUP so much that i have teamed up with them on a giveaway for you! check out the rafflecopter below to see how you could win twenty dollars to spend at thredUP.
