review and giveaway :: mooney's baltic amber etc

i have never kept it secret how much we love and rely on amber teething necklaces in this house. when i first got one for stella i sat and thought, "who am i?" trying to figure if i really bought into a necklace being all powerful and pain relieving. then our first double burst ear drum infection came and went without a whimper and i started thinking. then a shiny new tooth took us by surprise on her six month birthday without a peep of out of the ordinary fussiness from our girl. then more ear infections came and went, tubes, more teeth, then the two year molars - all without much incident of pain.

i was hooked.

"baltic amber is a fossilized tree resin and comes in a variety of shapes and colours. baltic amber is made for wearing (not chewing or ingestion). amber contains succinic acid, a natural analgesic and healing agent. amber will warm against your body and the succinic acid will be absorbed through your skin helping with pain relief.

amber is associated with sunlight and warmth and reputed to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, accelerates the healing of wounds, reduce inflammation of the throat, ear and stomach infections and respiratory disease. amber is unique and has amazing results which are all natural."

if you are not familiar with a amber necklace then you should know, they are not for actually teething on, that can actually be very dangerous - i think a lot of people come upon this false understanding so i wanted to clear that up. they are meant for pain relief brought on by the agents and succinic acid the material produces and they look great in the process!

stella still wears hers today at three, probably having to do with some comfort it brings her having worn it for so long now. i sometimes wonder though how much pain relieving capacity it still has since it is worn for, you name it, and the oils i am sure have lost their luster. but now robin has joined our family and if the constant bib of drool doesn't give away the fact that we are deep in the trenches of teething, then maybe his hand constantly in his mouth will.

at first sign i ordered robin a amber necklace of his own - this time trying out a new source. mooney's baltic amber etc has become my new favorite go-to for all of our amber needs. while i love stella's too, i have started recommending this shop as an option because i love the more personal one on one customer service, fast shipping, and more competitive pricing. my mom is even ordering one to elp relieve the pain from her asthma and copd.

the quality is absolutely outstanding. a knot between each bead to ensure extra safety if the strand should break, beads will not scatter every where and it is finished off with a well made screw clasp. after doing a little research, i learned that the lightest rawest amber contains the most succinic acid so this time around we ordered robin a gorgeous light lemon colored necklace.

mooney's baltic amber etc is all sold via a facebook page and i can't rave enough about how simple it was the communicate with lindsay mooney in getting the perfect necklace for us. she posts photos of her available product and then you can use facebook tools such as messaging, commenting on the photos, or on her home page to make your purchase. so easy!

i am so over the moon with the necklace that i teamed up with mooney's baltic amber etc for a giveaway - one lucky reader will receive a twenty dollar credit to her shop to pick out the amber product of your choice!
